Honored LLC guest, theme: Perfume

Hello to you all on this first day of 2014! Welcome here, Im so happy you still make your way here :) 

I have some exiting news to share! I was asked on as a gdt for Live and Love Crafts by my lovely friend and ex dt mama Sandra. What a perfect way to start 2014! 

When she told me about this month theme I was a very intrigued but I must confess I found it a bit of a struggle. It is PERFUME! Maybe your first thought is like mine, but hey there is nothing like a REAL challenge ha? Besides she mentioned some ways to interpret the theme that made it a lot easier right away: you can create in the same colors as your fav perfume, your choice of image can reflect the name of the perfume of your choice, you can alter a box and add a vintage perfume label and so on! 

I chose to try the decoupage technique for the very first time. I had this idea I wanted to use this gorge digi by Saturated Canary called Starla. She has this theatrical look that reminds me of a moviestar or a superstar currently living in Hollywood just  waiting to announce the release of her new fragrance. Its named Stardust. I bought the beautiful vintage bottle from Panduro Hobby and firstly colored my image with my Copics and then made a little label out of her and printed it. Then I used decoupage to add her to the bottle.  It was a bit messy! But it turned out pretty good. I also added some rolled roses, di paint, ribbon, embossing powder and a resin piece. Then of course Starla had to be made into a gift set so I made a matching card. The sentiment is one out of three that is included in the digi. Love it, it has the right amount of spunk to it ;)

If I had a rose...

Hi everybody! 

Today is sunday and if you are a frequent visitor you know that this is the day I host the lovely Live & Love Crafts blog. It is not without tears this time as its my very last as a DT.

I have had to make the decision to leave for two reasons. We are outgrowing our house and my little place in our bedroom needs to give place for new closets and this means I wont have a special place to craft. At the beginning before my stash was this big (OMG! How did that happen) I lived in boxes crafty wise. I cleared my kitchen table as I wanted to make a card and took out my boxes but that just wouldn't work anymore. The other reason is my little girls. They are both so young still and I want to spend as much time as I possibly can with them until they grow up a little bit and I can dig into my boxes lol! I feel I have used to much of my spare time to make cards lately.

As I said in the beginning of this post, its not without tears though. I know Im making the right call but it is tough leaving the amazing friends I have met during my time here. Besides the hugely talented dt girls Ive worked with I have also been fortunate enough to have worked together with the most awesome boss anybody could ever ask for. Sandra, thank you for believing in me and allowing me to use your beyond gorge stock to make my cards. I will never forget you and your beautiful personality. 

To the rest of the dt girls I want to say thanks for all the laughs and all the help. Im so proud to have been working alongside you. You are very sweet and Im fortunate to call you all my friends. I will be stalking you all to see your wonderful makes in the future. 

This week the dt has been showcasing the lovely WOC flowers. I made a card in the shape of a flower and used a lot of WOC goodies of course. To name a few I chose the lilys, a wild rose and the cherry blossoms. I was blown away by the hip rosebuds so I had to add two of those as well. The stamp is inked with Copics and the motive is by Magnolia stamps. 

If i hadn't been using my all time fav LLC product on my good bye card it just would be crazy so the seam binding that is handmade by Sandy had to be there too, I choose a blue one today. Don't you just love the clay heart? I doooooo! 

I also decided to add one of the cute keys - they are so shabby me thinks :)

Gingerbread Tilda in Lappland

Hi everybody and a warm welcome to my place 

Today is sunday and its my turn to host the amazing Live and Love Crafts blog. This week us in the dt has showcased the new and utterly stunning paper collection from Pion Design called "Wintertime in Swedish Lapland". I have anxiously awaited this years christmas collection as the one for last year was awesome and I was not disappointed :) There is some truly beautiful red, blue and brown sheets! 

After my little vintage adventure last sunday I wanted to play with a Tilda and my distressers again. My choice was this cute to the boot little Ginger bread Tilda and I colored her up so she would match my fav sheets. I used the backside of "Christmas bell" and one 6*6 paper (the red one). Thats one of the things I adore most with Pion papers, there is often a backside that is just as lush as the front. Around Tilda I added both Snow-tex and Frantage in shabby white to make it look like it was snowing.

I wanted to make a little more wintery bouquet of flowers and my choice of roses fell on the burgundy 10 mm and the deep red 15 mm ones. The beautiful little red and yellow apples are perfect for xmas cards so I had to add some of those too :) Oh, and of course that adorable little cherub! 

The bow is made from Organza ribbon 15 mm. I added a charm tied in jute ribbon and it is my all time fav christmas charm that Sandra stocks! Love how the text dangles down :) The copper rose got a touch  of white frantage too. 

Luckily Sandra also stocks my absolute fav Magnolia christmas die, the spruce and I added lots of snow and distress ink crackle paint in picket fence to it to make it frosty.

LLC challenge september: Inspirational picture

Hi and welcome to my blog 

Today is September 1st and that means its already time for a new challenge over at Live and Love Crafts blog. This month we would be thrilled if you wanted to create something with this lovely inspirational picture in mind. 

To me this has a very vintage feel to it so I decided to really challenge my self and make my first vintage creation! So let me down easy will you? ;) It is something Ive been dying to try but Ive been to afraid to fail. Especially as we have a real vintage queen on our dt, Elin. During last week she challenged herself to create a card with a stamped image so I thought: let´s give it a try :) 

The image is cut out from a sheet of tags from the "Fairytale of spring" collection by Pion design. The patterned paper is also made by Pion and is called "Ocean of roses". I think I have to say this is my all time fav! Love it so much :) Its a book box that I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo. You might see that more clearly in the pic below:

The beautiful resin frame is from Melissa Frances set of "Floral frames". OMGosh, Im such a sucker for resin! So is that cute to the boot little lock. Once again I used the amazing cameo lady to glue my shabby seam binding together. To know and see more of all the products I used just click the pictures below and it will take you right there.

LLC: Once upon a time

Hi everybody and welcome to my place! 

Oh am I exited about this weeks posting for LLC or what? I am , if you saw me now I would be jumping about :) 

This week our theme is "Once upon a time" and that is just a lucky strike isn't it? I seem to have been telling stories a while now ;) 

I immediately knew I wanted to make a somewhat cool card because I had already chosen my fairytale. Its the legend of Princess Alvilda. I doubt that you have heard of her. As the Pirates of the Caribbean movie was launched I watched it just because Johnny Depp was starring. Okay, so come on - so did you right? ;) And then I was soooo sold! That movie is like the bestest...ever ;) Johnny isn't the only one doing an awesome job portraying his character, so is Kiera Knightley. I must admit I had no idea there actually where woman pirates so I started searching and they weren't many of course. BUT there were some and o boy! All texts about these woman said they were some of our first feminists. Alvilda was a viking princess whom was known to defied every man who crossed her path. She immediately fascinated me as I live in the county she did once here in Sweden. 

Most historians agree that Alvilda did exist once however the stories about her has been proven to be somewhat more of a fairytale. 

I found a text about Alvilda in a book written by Anne Wallace Sharp "Daring female pirates" as i was looking into this and of course I had to share a short version of the legend with you all.  

Alvilda's father was the king of Gotaland and she was his only daughter. Once she became of age he locked her up in the tower of their castle! There she was guarded by poisonous snakes and lizards. The first man to get past these animals alive to ask for Alvilda's hand was the only one worthy enough the king thought. However he had also stated Alvilda had to agree to marry as well. Its not known how many men died trying to get to Alvilda. The only one who was successful in his attempts was a prince called Alf, of Denmark. However Alvilda didn't want to marry and her mother ended up helping Alvilda escape and she also managed to talk some servants into come along in her escape. These servants are also supposed to have been against marriage. Together they managed to steal a ship and made it to the sea. She eventually was known as the terror of the Baltic sea. She mostly targeted Denmark. Historians believe it was a form of revenge. The danish king ordered Alf to exterminate the pirates and he was eventually successful. Although the ladies did put up a good fight the were out powered by Alf and his men. As Alf was about to execute the captain Alvilda's helmet fell off and exposed her long hair. Alf couldn't bear the thought of killing her and again proposed marriage. Alvilda eventually caved and said yes because this time she had no other choice. This was years later after being independent for a long time. 

So my choice of image was easy, it was one of the pirate Tilda's that were released a couple of years ago by Magnolia. She is colored with my distress ink pads on 300 g watercoloring paper. The pirate ship card is cut out using my Silhouette Cameo and then I altered it a little adding more sails to it. I hardly don't think Alvilda's ship was this cute but if it wasn't it wouldn't be "me" if you know what I mean ;) I added some truly cool charms to it. LOVE that skull with the rose! I also added some of the utterly stunning sea shells. As always all the products Ive used can be found in the Inlinkz gallery at the end of my posting.

One more (Magnolia) princess on Sofiero

Hi there friends and followers! 

Welcome to my blog and todays posting is all about my weekly inspirational post over at Live and Love Crafts blog. This week is all about our fav color combos and well..I knew it had to involve pink cause otherwise it just wouldn't be me ;) Ive worked a lot with the amazing Sofiero paper collection from Maja Design lately and it involves a lot of green as well and since I love the papers so much green is growing on me. 

Ive once again chose to work with a little Magnolia princess. My inking is done with my Copics and is hugely inspired by my lovely, very treasured friend Jane of Jane´s lovely cards. Im so impressed with the way she inks and Ive been wanting to have a go at her technique for a while. She explained it to me and it was noooooot easy. Mine doesn't resemble hers a lot but Im pleased any ways. My Copic inking is hopefully improving a bit because i practice a lot ;) 

The papers are by Maja Design and its a limited edition collection so if you haven't bought yours yet you should before Sandra runs out! 

Since Im such a sucker for flowers I´ve been going a little nuts using the new WOC flowers that are new in stock! Omgosh! Sandra bought all the right ones! :) YAY!! 

And there are two more items I feel I have to mention, look at that amazing little cloudberry! Its eye-catching - love it! And that beyond beautiful princess rhinestone charm was just a must on here. Let me tell you it involved some serious "am I going to use it or not" issues. If i used it I wouldn't have it anymore and then I realized I can just buy a new one! lol ;)
